1. Over the last 50 years, our representatives have not represented us. They represent the 1% and the corporations. We live in a representative oligarchy or corporatocracy, not in a representative democracy.  We, the people, must become active participants in the political process because writing letters to our representatives, demonstrating, and passively supporting our two political parties has not worked. We must seize the reins of power from the morbidly rich and pathological and return it to the rightful sovereign, the people by pushing our agenda through citizen’s summons and active participation in the political process. We the people must lead. Surveys have shown that on issue after issue, from trade deals, deindustrialization, deregulation of the banks, our imperial foreign policy, that most of the American people have been on the right side of history.
2. We need not be ashamed or embarrassed even though it is the inclination of the working and the middle class to blame ourselves, we must understand we did not drive our nation into the ground over the last fifty years. We did not support the deregulation, deindustrialization, and the unconstitutional wars. That was done at the behest of the “masters of the universe” the oligarchs, the corporations on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley, and the politicians and think tanks they own.
3. The current administration is by definition fascist and anti-American. America is a nation built on the ideas of compromise, checks and balances, civil rights, consent of the governed, federalism, standards, and the rule of law. It is built on the words of the Declaration of Independence, on the idea of equality and our inalienable rights. It is built on international agreements like the UDHR. It is not designed for one party or one person rule. It was created to be a nation where one has the right to their beliefs as long as they do not harm others. It is built on the idea that a multitude of ideas and facts grounded in science and observation can be freely expressed and discussed so that they can lead us to the best outcomes. It was not designed for the voices of the wealthy and powerful to be amplified to the detriment of truth and ethics.  The current administration is backed by Christian nationalists that want to impose their version of Christianity on the rest of us that violates our right of freedom of religion. In fact, it is worse than this. Taking but one definition of fascism from an online dictionary, a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism. A more complete definition is Professor Laurence Britt’s definition: the 14 points include traits such as powerful and continuing nationalism, disdain for human rights, identification of enemies as a unifying cause, supremacy of the military, and controlled mass media. Other characteristics address the intertwined nature of religion and government, the protection of corporate power while suppressing labor power, and disdain for intellectuals and the arts. The list also highlights an obsession with crime and punishment, rampant cronyism and corruption, and fraudulent elections. It seems very apparent that this defines the current administration’s actions and policies clearly. This is further highlighted in the most recent presidential memo:

There are common recurrent motivations and indicia uniting this pattern of violent and terroristic activities under the umbrella of self-described “anti-fascism.”  These movements portray foundational American principles (e.g., support for law enforcement and border control) as “fascist” to justify and encourage acts of violent revolution.  This “anti-fascist” lie has become the organizing rallying cry used by domestic terrorists to wage a violent assault against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties.  Common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States Government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.  As described in the Order of September 22, 2025 (Designating Antifa as a Domestic Terrorist Organization), the groups and entities that perpetuate this extremism have created a movement that embraces and elevates violence to achieve policy outcomes, including justifying additional assassinations.  For example, Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin engraved the bullets used in the murder with so-called “anti-fascist” rhetoric.  

Under these words many Americans can be deemed enemies of the state. Here is a clarification of what I mean. Just by applying the definition of fascism to what the federal government under this administration is doing and non-violently criticizing it e.g., by saying that this administration is attacking due process by assaulting and arresting American citizens without judicial warrants and probable cause; by stating the government is failing to follow fair and established legal procedures: denying a person their fundamental rights to life, liberty, or property without just cause or proper treatment one could be labeled as being anti-American.  However, the citizens being arrested or being silenced by criticizing the government for its actions are not threatening the government or interfering with federal government action. They are not being violent. They are not threatening the “violent” overthrow of the state or “encouraging” violent “revolution.”  They are not threatening to overthrow the government.  They are not “waging a war against democratic institutions, constitutional rights, and fundamental American liberties” They are in fact asking that our democratic institutions protect our rights and fundamental American liberties. They are not being hostile; they are just asking that well established laws codified in the Constitution be followed and not violated. They are asking that all citizens’ rights be protected. They are asking that the law be applied equally and fairly to all citizens without favor or bias. They are asking citizens that pose no threat to government agents or who are merely exercising their rights by peacefully assembling and expressing their non-violent opinion not be brutalized by government agents. They are asking that citizens must not be treated as enemy combatants. They are asking that our first amendment right of free speech to point this out be protected. They are asking that church and state be separated. As another example in our declaration, they could say we are anti-capitalist when in fact industrial capitalism as practiced by our government between 1945 to 1975 was a better form of capitalism.

Agents may use ruses to enter homes without a warrant, such as claiming they are investigating a crime or have found a lost ID. 

• Arrests of citizens: 

There are reports of ICE agents arresting and detaining U.S. citizens, such as a 71-year-old woman who was handcuffed and held for eight hours without being charged, according to this YouTube video. 

• Reckless actions and excessive force: 

The American Constitution Society notes instances of ICE agents causing car crashes during high-speed pursuits and brandishing weapons at unarmed children. 

• Lack of identification: 

In some cases, ICE officers have been documented operating in plain clothes, without proper identification, and refusing to identify themselves when requested by community members.
